Blog Post No. 22: Symphony No. 49 (The Pleasant)
This is the shortest of my short symphonies.
It is a lyrical work, reminiscent of Barber.
It is a fantasy of what it might be like to be a person who is completely even tempered: mild joys, mild setbacks– very stable, as if from an earlier, simpler time which never actually existed.
