Blog Post No. 16: Soundscape No. 10 (Bass Clarinet)

Soundscape No. 10 for Bass Clarinet honors Jews, in this time of increasing antisemitism.

I also honor Palestinians along with Israelis in my Soundscape for Trombone.

The Palestinian people are no more responsible for atrocities perpetrated by their extremists than Israelis are for atrocities by their extremists.

Note the distinction between people living in Israel and other people who happen to be Jewish who live in other parts of the world. While the current Israeli leader has done terrible things, in fact has made the world less safe for all Jews in all countries, I want to remember the reason Israel was founded in the first place: as a safe haven for Jews recently liberated from Nazi death camps as well as for other persecuted Jews.
